Maria Bader-Kubizek was born in Horn (Low Austria). Studied at the University of Music in Vienna. Advanced studies with Sándor Végh in Salzburg and David Takeno in London.
Through her long standing work (since 1987) with Niikolaus Harnoncourt in his "Concentus Musicus" the violinist has developed one of the most significant emphases of her artistic work: chamber music and soloist concerts on original instruments of the baroque, classical and early romantic eras.
In particular she has become wellknown for her Mozart-Interpretations.
As a soloist she has appeared in the Vienna Musikverein and in the Vienna Konzerthaus in performances of all the violin-concertos of W. A. Mozart; other solo appearances in Eisenstadt, Hohenems, Italy and Japan with violin-concertos by Bach, Vivaldi, Mozart, Beethoven and Brahms (double concerto).
As chamber musician she has performed with numerous artists, such as Christophe Coin, Gordon Murray, Anita Mitterer, Richard Fuller, Sigbert Rampe and Henrietta Scheytt and has appeared in well-known festivals such as Styriarte (Graz), the international Haydn - Festival in Eisenstadt, the Vienna Festival, International Mozart - Festival - Istanbul, the int. Haydn Festival Kanazawa in Japan ... Recitals in all of Europe, USA and Japan, as well as live concerts in radio and television, e.g. the appearance in Europe`s prestigious Echo Klassik der Stars 2005 for the best baroque Interpretation.
In the course of her artistic work Maria Bader-Kubizek has had the privilege to play on some of the most significant surviving instruments of our time including one of the foremost original violins by Jacob Stainer (from the collection of the National Music Nuseum at the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, S.D., USA; the sound of this violin played by Maria Bader-Kubizek (Biber) has been captured for the first time on CD. Another of the most signiificant instruments from the Collection of Musical Instruments in Vienna´s "Kunsthistorisches Musuem" is the violin which belonged to Leopold Mozart. This instrument has also been recorded for the first time by Maria Bader-Kubizek in a highly-acclaimed interpretation of four sonatas by W. A. Mozart.
Since 1999 she has been the concertmistress of the "Haydn - Academy Orchestra" and is artisticly directing the "Capella Czestochoviensis" in Poland (also on original instruments) since Jan. 2006
